Research Professor, Director of Energy System Analysis and Market Analysis Division, Member of Board of the Chinese Society of Energy Research, Member of Board of the Beijing Society of Energy Research, Member of IHDP Chinese Network Commission. As computer specialist on energy information system, energy system analysis, demand and supply forecast by modeling at the fist 3 years after came to Energy Research Institute.
From 1993, began the research on climate change relative to energy policy analysis, which focus on energy technology policy assessment, energy supply policy assessment, renewable energy development and energy conservation. At present mainly working on policy assessment for energy system, greenhouse Gases (GHG) reduction by Integrated Assessment Model (IAM), conducting several projects on policy assessment as team leader and key member. Special major is modeling for policy assessment on energy, climate change and local energy environment with the experience to develop IPAC model..Also work on policy making supporting study for domestic climate change, local environment policies and international negotiation. Started from 1997, worked with IPCC for Special Report on Emission Scenario and Working Group III Third Assessment Report and is contributing leader author of IPCC WGIII TAR chapter 2. And now is leader author of IPCC WGIII Chapter 3 of AR4, leader author of Chapter 2 of Global Environment Outlook-4 (GEO-4). Has extensive international research experience. Have several year’s research collaboration with leading institutes and experts including Pacific Northwest National Lab., (US), National Institute for Environment Studies (Japan), National Institute for Public Health and Environment (the Netherlands), International Institute for Applied System Analysis (IIASA) etc. Attend more then 10 international meeting per year. |
